RED seems to be the best color for sales. Red is the color of passion, anger, lust, but in some cultures (Korean and Chinese) it is the color of death. Red reflects light waves faster than other colors, which is why it is used for stop signs, brake lights and anything that requires immediate attention. Red is best suited for small areas or anything that you want to direct attention to. ORANGE has been proven to be the most disliked color, but is also known for imbuing creativity, sexuality and affordability. Orange is unpleasant for most people to look at, but is a good attention getter. Use sparingly or as an accent. YELLOW is the second color seen by the retina. Yellow makes people think clearer. PURPLE / VIOLET is associated with majesty, creativity, spirituality and healing. People either love or hate purple. BLUE is the most universally accepted color regardless of culture. Light blue leans towards fantasy and dark blue towards power / authority. To most people blue is not aggressive but somewhat calming, even cold. GREEN is relaxing to most people. Green is considered passive and not recommended for sales. Green is also the color of fertility. BROWN gives the image of traditional values. Light wood shades are associated with affordability and dark shades remind one of richness and opulence. Brown is relaxed, casual and traditional. BLACK represents elegance and richness in Western cultures. Japanese culture associates black with death. Black needs more light colors to enhance it, and is a good color with any other color. WHITE makes things appear larger, cleaner, purer. White is a good accent with anything and most web colors need light or white backgrounds. In india white means soon to be widow. In China white is a color of mourning.
