Aldous Huxley

British poet, playwright, novelist, essayist and critic.

Widely considered one of Britain's most important writers of the 20th century, Huxley was influenced by Hinduism, particularly the philosophical Vedānta school, as well as humanism and parapsychology. Towards the end of his life he also drew from ancient and modern mysticism.

Diagnosed with cancer in 1960, Huxley died on the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
